The Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree offers students an advanced education to accelerate their careers in industry, government, or consulting or to prepare them further study at the doctoral level.

Within the broader field of Civil Engineering, MS students align with one of four program areas: Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, Environmental and Water Resources Engineering or Transportation Engineering. These concentrations allow students to delve deeply into their specific interests while enjoying a high degree of exchange and collaboration among the programs. Each program area features award-winning faculty and research opportunities.

Both thesis and coursework-only MS degree options are available.
