Our goal is to encourage students and help them succeed academically while thriving and growing as individuals.

The goal of the UMass Amherst College of Engineering Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is to support the recruitment, retention, and success of a diverse body of Engineering students that includes students of color, women, first-generation, LGBTQIA+, transfer, international, and Pell-eligible students. Because DEI staff members are trained engineers, they are able to provide a nuanced understanding of the challenges that Engineering students face.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion operates out of the Community, Equity, and Inclusion Hub. The Hub is a marquee space of 1,400 square feet that was renovated in fall 2018 and designed to support the College's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The space includes a conference room, multiple webinar facilities, and modular study and group meeting space.
