Our Industry Partner Program (IPP) creates invaluable long-term, strategic relationships between our partner companies and the UMass Amherst College of Engineering, the No. 1 public engineering program in New England.
Membership in the UMass Amherst College of Engineering Industry Partner Program (IPP) is beneficial to any organization interested in establishing a long-term, strategic relationship with the college.

A Powerful Partnership
We offer multi-tiered annual memberships tailored to best fit the needs of each industry partner. Although every partnership is unique and is tailored to fit the needs of the member company, we provide significant value to member organizations through four core benefits.
As an IPP member, you will:
- Build deep partnerships with faculty and emerging research and technologies.
- Raise your visibility and brand awareness.
- Recruit from our student talent pipeline at all levels (entry-level to highly specialized PhD).
- Engage in educational workforce development opportunities for organizational personnel.

Affiliate $10,000
- Dedicated UMass staff member to assist with navigating and accessing the College of Engineering.
- Coordinated meeting(s) with specific faculty to learn about their research and potential collaboration.
- Participation included in up to 3 campus career fairs.
- Support one of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office’s “Affiliate Level” initiatives, or work with the Assistant Dean for DEI to create a custom program.
- Full-page advertisement in the Engineering Career Services Handbook (virtual and online).
- Company logo included at the College of Engineering Career Center website and other COE webpages.
- Company branding via the College of Engineering public video displays.
- Complimentary use of on-site meeting rooms (as available) for student recruiting events.

Partner $50,000
All Affiliate benefits plus:
- Invitation to participate in the College of Engineering Industry Partners Program Advisory Board.
- Support one of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office’s “Partner Level” initiatives, or work with the Assistant Dean for DEI to create a custom program.
- Two mass emails to College of Engineering student populations (e.g., specific majors, seniors, MS, PhDs, etc.) to promote relevant employment or research opportunities.
- One complimentary on-campus recruiting event to recruit for interns or full-time hires.
- Sponsor a one-semester capstone/senior design project.
- Sponsor one fully or partially funded (dependent on terms) Graduate Student Fellow (or Undergraduate Research Scholar(s)) for research on a topic of mutual interest.
- Intellectual Property (if applicable): Option to negotiate an exclusive royalty bearing commercial license on IP resulting from partnership research.
Principal $75,000+
All Affiliate and Partner benefits plus:
- Leadership role in College of Engineering Industry Partners Program Advisory Board.
- Support one of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office’s “Principal Level” initiatives, or work with the Assistant Dean for DEI to create a custom program.
- Sponsor an additional fully or partially funded (dependent on terms), company-branded Graduate Student Fellow, Undergraduate Research Scholar(s), and/or faculty member working on a topic of mutual interest.
- Intellectual Property (if applicable): Option to negotiate an exclusive royalty bearing commercial license on IP resulting from partnership research.
* Employees of our industry partners (at all levels of participation) may be eligible for discounted continuing education and University Without Walls (UWW) courses through separate agreements.
