The Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management and Leadership (PML) is designed to equip the STEM professional or current UMass Amherst graduate student in a STEM discipline with the necessary skills and competencies to manage and lead engineering and technology-based projects. Certificate requirements include the following three courses (9 credits):

  • MIE 645: Project Budgeting and Finance for Engineers
  • MIE 664: Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurship
  • MIE 670: Technical Project Management or Equivalent

For students desiring to further build their technology and engineering management and leadership abilities, the certificate offers a gateway to the Master of Science in Engineering Management, with all 9 credits eligible toward the completion of this MS degree.

Enroll by completing  an Intention to Complete the Graduate Certificate in Engineering Project Management and LeadershipThis step is mandatory and should be completed before taking your first PML class. You must be registered at UMass Amherst as a graduate student or a non-degree graduate student before completing this form.
