William W. Boyer Lecture

The Boyer Lecture was created in honor of Professor William W. Boyer, who was instrumental in the early development of the UMass Transportation Engineering Program in the 1950s and 1960s. Many students who studied under Dr. Boyer’s supervision have gone on to become very successful practicing transportation engineers, entrepreneurs, and scholars. Professor Boyer can be credited with integrating computer applications into the transportation undergraduate and graduate curricula and with creating an award-winning student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
