Final Reports from Campus Climate Study Released

The university has released the final reports from its Campus Climate study.

Separate reports provide data including open-ended responses detailing the on-campus experiences of undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff regarding how well the university is meeting its goals for inclusivity and equality.

These reports will inform planning that will happen over the summer as executive areas, schools and colleges identify goals to join with campus-wide strategies. The determined goals will inform revisions to the Diversity Strategic Plan, which will guide the institution’s future efforts related to equity and inclusion.

The Campus Climate Survey was distributed in November 2016. In May 2017, the university began sharing the survey data when it released an abridged report, which shed light on overall campus experiences. In January 2018, unit reports were released, allowing individual executive areas, schools and colleges to examine where they may need to improve in order to better move the institution toward its aspirational campus climate of being respectful and inclusive for all.

As part of the Campus Climate Study, the Office of Equity and Inclusion awarded more than $20,000 in funding for Campus Climate Improvement Grants, assembled a team of Campus Climate Ambassadors to engage the campus community and hosted more than 100 Campus Climate Conversations. In addition, the office is offering an opportunity for community members to have their voices confidentially heard now through May 15.
