Agricultural Excellence at UMass Earns Top Ranking from U.S. News and World Report
UMass Amherst has again earned a top ranking in the Agricultural Sciences category by U.S. News and World Report in its Best Global Universities for 2023-24.
For the fourth year in a row, the University of Massachusetts Amherst ranks No. 1 in the U.S. and No. 5 in the world for Agricultural Sciences. As noted by the magazine, “The field of agricultural sciences encompasses a wide range of subjects related to how humans use and develop natural resources for their benefit. They include horticulture, food science and nutrition, dairy science and agronomy.” Several units in the university’s College of Natural Sciences contribute to the research being done in agriculture, including the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and the Department of Food Science.
