Change of Major Request

Change of Major Request

Any undergraduate student who wants to declare, change, or add a CNS Major should submit a Change of Major Request. This includes: 

• CNS students changing from one CNS major to another 
• Students from other schools/colleges who want to switch into a CNS major 
• Any student who wants to add a secondary major in CNS 

All major changes require either a meeting with a CNS academic advisor or a review of the student's academic record. Processing times vary depending on the student's status and the time of semester. 

Secondary Major Change Requests 

In order to allow students with primary majors priority access to courses, secondary major requests are not reviewed during peak registration periods, including add/drop and course registration. 

Fall 2026 review pauses: 

• August 31 through September 14, 2026 
• November 4 through December 4, 2026
