McCall MacBain Scholarship

What It's For:
The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for master’s or professional study at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. They are looking for students with strong academic records, demonstrated leadership, community engagement, and personal character with an inner drive to make a positive impact in other people’s lives. Each year, the program awards around 30 full scholarships and 100 finalist awards. More information can be found here: https://mccallmacbainscholars.org
Eligibility Requirements:
- To be eligible to apply for our 2027 cohort, you will need to meet ONE of the following criteria:
- You are a current student on track to earn your first bachelor’s degree by August 2027
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree in the last five years (January 2021 or later)
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago, and were 30 years or younger on January 1st, 2026
Candidate Profile:

- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Academic strength and intellectual curiosity
Application Procedure
- Short essays reflecting on your experiences, goals, and personal growth
- Unofficial transcript/s
- One-page resume
- Two reference forms, due by the campus deadline
UMass ONSA can nominate up to three applicants each year.
All applicants MUST be nominated by their college or university in order to apply for the Truman Scholarship. As such, UMass applicants are reviewed by the internal faculty committee and up to three nominees are selected. You must complete your application by the campus deadline of September 8th to be considered for the internal review for nomination.
