Soumya Vadicharla '24

Hi, I'm Soumya! I am a senior from Westford, MA majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in math. 

This past summer, I interned at Foundation Medicine Inc. in Cambridge, MA as an automation engineer intern. In the process engineering group, I helped create and test methods to allow patient samples to be processed quickly and efficiently. I was able to work with a variety of instruments in the labs and learned a lot about robotic liquid handlers, and even got to program some myself! It was cool to see how useful automation engineering can be in the field of cancer genomics. On campus, I am a research assistant in the Human Robot Systems Laboratory. I am currently working on developing a small-scale robotic liquid handler. I hope to learn more about robotics in the biomedical space as I progress into my career. 

Outside of engineering, I like to workout, experiment in cooking, and I've recently picked up running!
