"I came to UMass wanting to study engineering, and found the beautiful way classes are run. It is rigorous, yet flexible, and I never found myself in a moment of despair due to homework. Some classes have homework due at the end of term, some have self-graded homeworks. No matter the case, it was easy to find a rhythm and learn a lot in a short time. Matlab was especially interesting, and brought out my problem solving interests like nothing else. On top of this, I drove buses for UMass Transit, participated in ballroom dancing and in the entrepreneurship club. Freshman year, I presented my invention for an automatic sanding device to the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship. Thanks to the MBA fellows, I was able to improve my presentation skills to the point of winning 4 competitions. I’ve learned the value of reaching out to people for help in learning, new hobbies, and fun activities. Everything's better with friends from UMass!”
