Ben Pepper '24

Hey, I’m Ben! I am a senior from Ashland, MA majoring in chemical engineering. I’m super excited to be on the Engineering Career Center Staff this year!

This past summer I was a part of the NSF-REU program and the University of Akron out in Akron, Ohio. I was responsible for synthesizing and testing chemicals that would break when force was applied to them, seeing how they reacted over time in a polymer material based on their fluorescence when breaking. On campus, I am part of the UMass chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and I am a part of Dr. Shelly Peyton's lab investigating how the brain responds to mild traumatic brain injury and how we can better detect it. Outside of engineering, I am a big fan of traveling, watching movies, and hiking. I hope to see you in the career center soon!
