Upcoming Career Fairs for Engineering Majors
Content
The college will be offering All Engineering Majors In-Person Career Fairs on September 20, 21, 22, and 23, from 1 – 5pm in the Gunness Student Center in Marcus Hall. The All Engineering Majors Virtual Career Fair will be held on September 29 from 12 – 6pm and conducted via Handshake.
There were initially only three in-person dates scheduled for the career fairs, but a fourth in-person date was added due to high employer demand. There will be approximately 70 different employers present for the in-person events, divided between the four days. There will also be approximately 70 employers attending the virtual event. These employers will be searching for engineering majors for internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience interacting with potential employers and develop an understanding of the employment landscape for engineering students.
Employers that will be in attendance include Raytheon, the Federal Aviation Administration, AbbVie, MITRE, MathWorks, Markforged, Marvell Semiconductor, Sensata, ISO New England, General Dynamics, TTM Technologies, Bristol Myers Squibb, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Saint-Gobain, and Dell. Full lists of employers that will be present and when they will be present are available here, so that students can plan accordingly.
This fall the college is also launching a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Certification program for undergraduate and graduate students. Students will earn badges by participating in DEI-related events or training opportunities. The first opportunity will be to attend one of the three Theater Delta performances sponsored by the college on September 21 and 22. Students who register for these performances will receive a special badge for the career fairs, which will acknowledge to prospective employers their leadership in this area. Each employer recruiting at the fairs will receive information about this new initiative.
In addition to the All Engineering Majors In-Person Career Fairs and the All Engineering Majors Virtual Career Fair, engineering students are also encouraged to attend the following career fairs taking place later this fall: the Tech Jobs & Internship Fair on October 6; the Life Sciences & Biotech Career Fair on October 13; and the Civil & Environmental Engineering Career Fair on October 21. Each of these fairs will take place in-person.
