We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Roger Grette, a cherished member of our college community and career services team. He left us on April 15 after a brave fight against cancer.
Roger Grette will be fondly remembered as someone who brought people together, creating an environment of support and camaraderie. His talent for making each person feel valued and heard, combined with his radiant positivity, big smile, and that playful gleam in his eye, will leave a cherished legacy.
We extend our sincere condolences to all who have been touched by Roger's life.

Roger Grette is the recipient of a 2026 Dean’s Outstanding Student Support Award. This honor recognizes his extraordinary contributions to enriching the student experience and positively impacting student development within the Riccio College of Engineering.
Roger fosters strong partnerships with students during their time here. His genuine interest and caring nature make him a friend to all, and his enthusiasm uplifts our entire community. In the words of a student nominator, Roger is “the glue” that keeps everything together and running in the Career Services Office. He infuses energy, kindness, and steadfast support into every interaction. His warm guidance through job searches, interviews, and life decisions has helped shape countless engineering careers.
Roger is a champion for our students. He is a constant at senior design events, commencements, and student competitions—always there to cheer on and celebrate our engineers. His authenticity, encouragement, and mentorship help to create a sense of belonging that extends beyond graduation, establishing lasting connections. The impact of his efforts is reflected in the countless students who seek his advice and the alumni who return to express their gratitude.
Roger is one of a kind. His legacy is one of inspiration and impact, and we are truly grateful for his unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of those around him.
