On Tuesday, November 19, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) hosted the second event in its Women’s Dinner Series, which aims to build a community of support for undergraduate and graduate women in ECE.
This event featured a presentation by Shana Passonno—Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, Office of Professional Development—on the topic of “The Art of Introducing Yourself.” Around 30 undergraduate and graduate students gathered in Gunness Student Center to hear the presentation and share a dinner catered by local restaurant La Veracruzana.
The final event of the year will be held in mid-February, and will feature ECE alumni returning to campus to discuss their career experiences.
This series is funded by the OEI Campus Climate Improvement Grant and by the College of Engineering's Career Development and Experiential Learning Center. The organizers are Passonno, Christina Mata (Associate Director of Graduate Career Programs), Emily Krems (ECE Academic Advisor), Yasra Chandio (ECE PhD student), and Sanskruti Khedkar (ECE undergraduate student and peer advisor).
