Baker has received the highest honor bestowed by the Energy, Natural Resources, and Environment section of INFORMS.

In part, Breña will use his fellowship to complete a project titled “Development of Construction Engineering Track in Civil and Environmental Engineering.”

This PIT program connects faculty from colleges and schools across campus to create public-interest, multidisciplinary, tech-enabled pedagogy and research.

Among many other qualifications for the prestigious professorship are widely recognized research, teaching, and/or public-service accomplishments.

The Armstrong professorship was established in 2001 with an endowment of $850,000 by John and Elizabeth Armstrong and matching funds.

The Board of Trustees granted tenure to eight faculty from the Riccio College of Engineering and promoted six of them to the position of associate professor.

Guzman will use his fellowship to redevelop a course in groundwater/subsurface hydraulics and deliver groundbreaking engineering themes to upper-level students.

This prestigious honor is awarded to tenure-level faculty with the rank of professor who are not already appointed to named or distinguished professorships.

The Center for Research on Families program mentors UMass faculty through a year-long grant-writing process and creates lasting family-research connections.
