Jessica Schiffman, professor and Gary R. Lapidus Faculty Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering, has been selected to the 2024-25 ELATES class.

Muriel serves as an associate editor of Supply Chain and Logistics for the flagship journal of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.

The Provost has approved the promotion of four COE faculty members to full professor: Hari Balasubramanian, Caitlyn Butler, Eleni Christofa, and Joyita Dutta.

Eleni Christofa and Jimi Oke of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, have been awarded a 2024 Armstrong Fund Grant.

In her talk, Gopalappa will explain her “Healthy Lives for All Approach” to predict, prevent, and control diseases through systems-engineering models.

The award commemorates the duo’s 1995 paper based on the research of former Burleson grad student Mircea Stan, now a professor at the University of Virginia.
