Hoover, Troy, and Zagarins Selected as 2026-27 TIDE Ambassadors Faculty Fellows
Content
Three SPHHS faculty members are among the 9 UMass Amherst faculty selected by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to the 2026-27 cohort of TIDE (Teaching for Inclusiveness, Diversity, and Equity) Ambassadors. They are Jill Hoover, Associate Professor of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences; Lisa Troy, Associate Professor of Nutrition; and Sofija Zagarins, Senior Lecturer of Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
The selective fellowship empowers outstanding faculty to transform student learning across cultural, social and learning differences through strength-based, inclusive teaching approaches.
Representing diverse disciplines united by a shared commitment to equity and inclusion, the new cohort of TIDE Ambassadors will extend their learning into their academic units and contribute to CTL's broader diversity initiatives. Throughout the year, they will deepen their inclusive teaching strategies, reimagine course designs and build meaningful cross-disciplinary collaborations.
More information about the TIDE Ambassadors Faculty Fellows program can be found on the CTL website.
