UMass Transit and PVTA Announce Increased Services

UMass Transit and PVTA have announced that bus service is being restored to levels not seen on campus in nearly a decade.

“Our extraordinary training and development staff have worked tirelessly to welcome more than 15 new UMass student drivers into our active ranks,” says Connie Englert, director of Transportation Services. “This allows us to restore services to their highest levels since 2016.”

Englert says that the Route 34 Campus Shuttle will see service extended to 7 p.m. following spring break, and new additions are being made to Routes 30 and 31.

“New supplemental weekday ‘trippers’ will add capacity to existing scheduled services between 2-6 p.m.,” Englert says about the Route 30 and 31 additions. “These buses significantly increase our peak capacity during class change times and will improve on-time performance of our network.”

A complete list of routes and schedules can be found on the UMass Transit website, and the Transit app and myStop PVTA Bustracker website are available for riders to find information about bus locations, service alerts, departures and directions.
