At its quarterly meeting held on Sept. 19, the UMass Board of Trustees approved the following UMass Amherst faculty appointments with tenure:

• Fouad Abd-El Khalick, provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs; professor, teacher education and curriculum studies, College of Education
• Hongsoo Choi, professor, biomedical engineering, College of Engineering
• Chang Liu, associate professor, biomedical engineering, College of Engineering
• Calvin Nite, sport management, Isenberg School of Management

Also receiving transfer of tenure is Justin Gross, associate professor, from the Department of Political Science to the School of Public Policy.
