UMass Amherst Civic Engagement and Service-Learning Faculty Fellowship Open for 2021-22 Applications
The Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) Faculty Fellowship is now open for applications.
Civic Engagement and Service-Learning Faculty Fellows integrate community engagement and service-learning into courses to:
- Apply a high-impact, transformative pedagogy for social change relevant to any discipline.
- Strengthen the relationship between their teaching and their engaged scholarship.
- Provide students with a deeper, experiential academic understanding of the world in which they live and their power to be positive agents of change.
- Help your department contribute to all four student learning goals of the UMass Strategic Plan: Community, agency, responsibility and proficiency.
CESL Fellows receive a $1000 stipend, attend monthly meetings and work on new or existing syllabi with a diverse group of faculty from across campus. The fellowship runs for the full 2021-22 academic year.
Applications are due April 2. The application is available online.
For more information contact Joseph Krupczynski, director of CESL at jkrup@umass.edu or visit the Faculty Fellows page on the CESL website.
