Student Life without the Student Union (Temporarily)
Until the fall of 2020, the campus will be without use of the Student Union Building while it undergoes major renovation, but the services it housed continue in other locations.
Most offices for student services and recognized student organizations (RSOs) have been relocated to Bartlett Hall, with exceptions like UVC TV-19, which is temporarily in Herter Basement.
A partial list of relocations is attached to this report.
If you don't see the RSO you’re looking for on the list, contact the Student Government Association.
If you don’t see a Student Affairs department or business that you’re looking for, contact Student Affairs and Campus Life at 413/545-2300.

Pedestrian Safety
A construction site fence now encloses the Student Union construction area, and temporary walkways are in place around the site while the building undergoes its first major renovation since opening in 1957.
The construction vehicle route is via Hicks Way, west of the site, with a main gate at the northwest corner. Pedestrians will need to exercise extra caution in this area. Flaggers will control foot and vehicle traffic in the main gate area, as necessary, during regular construction hours, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bicycles
Bicycles that were left in front of the Student Union will be stored on site by the contractor until Friday, Jan. 25. Owners can retrieve their bicycles by going to the main gate Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
After Jan. 25, remaining bicycles will be stored at Tillson Farm. To retrieve a bicycle there, contact Gary Glazier at gglazier@facil.umass.edu, 413/835-1253.
