Registration and Submissions Open for 2026 Massachusetts Undergraduate Research Conference
Registration and abstract submissions are now open for the 2026 Massachusetts Undergraduate Research Conference (MassURC), which will take place Friday, April 17, in the Campus Center.
Abstracts from individual and group presenters will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 20. Now in its 32nd year, MassURC is a daylong conference where undergraduate students from across the commonwealth’s 28 public colleges and universities come together to showcase their individual or group scholarly research, creative portfolios and community service projects through poster presentations.
Each year, the conference highlights research in more than 60 subject areas, including biochemistry, history, architecture, marketing, fine arts, and sociology. Attendees can engage directly with undergraduate student presenters and gain an inside look at the diverse and defining work at campuses across Massachusetts.
According to organizers, MassURC is the only statewide undergraduate research conference in the U.S. that is free for presenters.
“At a time when academic inquiry faces growing challenges, the conference reaffirms the value of curiosity-driven scholarship” says Commonwealth Honors College Dean Mari Castañeda. “By elevating student research, the conference not only celebrates intellectual achievement, but also underscores the essential role of inquiry and innovation in shaping and building informed, resilient communities.”
MassURC is supported by Commonwealth Honors College, the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, the State Universities of Massachusetts Council of Presidents, and the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges.
