The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) is pleased to solicit proposals for the Mutual Mentoring Grant Program for projects to begin in 2021-22. In addition to the standard priority areas, OFD invites proposals that creatively address pandemic-related challenges to career progression.

MUTUAL MENTORING TEAM GRANT

Team grants support faculty-driven, context-sensitive mentoring projects, orchestrated by teams that conceive and carry out their own project plans. OFD will fund team grants of up to $6,000 per award. Team grants are available to support networks comprised of four or more faculty. Team grants may include a mix of types and ranks of faculty, as long as the majority of the individuals meet the eligibility criteria.

MUTUAL MENTORING MICRO GRANT

Micro grants are individual mentoring grants that are intended to encourage faculty to identify desirable areas for professional growth and opportunity, and to develop the necessary mentoring relationship(s) to make such change(s) possible. OFD will fund projects up to $1,500 per award.

Note: There will be a separate call for UMass ADVANCE Mutual Mentoring Team Grants. Proposals that are considered for funding which were submitted to both programs will be reviewed collaboratively, and the two offices will coordinate to ensure all faculty are well served.
