Nominations Being Accepted for Scanlon Student Employee of the Year Award for 2020-21

The 2020-21 Gerald F. Scanlon Student Employee of the Year committee is seeking nominations for outstanding student employees. Nominations are due by Friday, March 19.

The intent of the award is to recognize and honor students who have demonstrated exceptional performance by contributing their time and skills to help the university achieve its goals and objectives.

Departmental supervisors may nominate any matriculated undergraduate student who has been employed by the university for six months or more, is in good academic standing, and meets nomination criteria. Selection criteria include dependability, demonstrated initiative and original contributions to the workplace. Ten students will be selected to receive a certificate and monetary award.

This award is named in the memory of “Gerry” Scanlon, who was a staunch supporter of students throughout his 20-plus year tenure with the university. Without student workers, much of the work done by university staff would be difficult to achieve. This award program is a way for the university to say “thank you” to valuable student employees.

This year, the nomination and submission process is online; one form to fill out and submit.
