Juniper Institute for Young Writers Announces Winter Workshops in Creative Writing for Teens
The Juniper Institute for Young Writers is currently accepting applications for online Winter Workshops, Dec. 27-30. The immersive four-day program is designed for teens interested in taking their creative writing to the next level. This pre-college experience offers inspiration, direction and advice for writers in grades 9-12. UMass affiliates (dependents of UMass students, faculty, staff and alumni) are eligible for a $100 discount on the program cost.
The Online Winter Workshops will give young writers the time and expert guidance necessary to end 2021 on a creative streak and set writing goals for 2022. They will gain insight to the creative writing process, with opportunities to learn from an extraordinary group of dedicated instructors, and peers who share their love of writing. Guided write-ins and writing labs will provide feedback and space to share work. Instructors will also offer their ever-popular writer’s life sessions, where they give a reading and offer writing advice. The program will roll into the new year with a celebratory participant reading.
Applications must be submitted online by Nov. 15. See the apply page on Juniper’s website for more details.
