The Office of the Provost’s Faculty Diversity team, in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Assessment, Survey, and Effectiveness Research (ASER), will host two Classroom Equity Action Plan Faculty Forums this spring semester.

All UMass Amherst faculty members involved in Classroom Equity Action Plan work are invited to participate in either forum, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 3-4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 29, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Great Hall on the second floor of Old Chapel.

The forums are designed to provide a platform for faculty members from various departments to discuss their progress, express satisfaction or concerns, and share successful strategies related to implementing classroom equity actions. All are encouraged to share their unique perspectives and experiences while reflecting on a collective approach to teaching.

The forums will also foster connections among faculty engaged in this important work across campus. Teams from CTL and ASER will be available to share information and resources, provide guidance and answer questions about specific action items. Additionally, resources available on the Teams Channel site will be reviewed.

The overall goal is to assist each faculty member, department and college to improve equity, belonging and connectedness within the classroom.

Online registration is currently open for the Feb. 18 forum. For more information about the Classroom Equity Action Plan and to RSVP, visit the Office of the Provost website.
