CoJourn for Staff and Faculty Returns for 2021

CoJourn@UMass for Staff and Faculty is back in November 2021.

In 2020, Over 140 faculty and staff participated in the CoJourn program at UMass. This 12-week peer-to-peer support program offered participants a chance to work with a partner on any work or life goals they chose.

The CoJourn model was developed by Molly Keehn, Ed.D. and Karl Henricksen. Participants work with a partner and commit to 30-minutes of focused support and encouragement.  Participants are given some tools and training and then each person sets a series of goals for themselves. Your partner’s job is to provide non-judgmental support as you take steps towards your goals. Participants have used the program to focus on things like wellness, managing anxiety, connecting with others or tackling procrastination.

Reactions previous participants have had to the program include:

  • “…provided perfect amount of structure and accountability - not too much or too little.”
  •  “…my partner was great, and we had an awesome time getting to know each other better.”
  • “Helped me to say focused and on task during a time that could have been far less productive.”
  • “It really was a life saver during these crazy COVID times.”
