The Center for Teaching and Learning to Host Workshop on Large Classes

The Center for Teaching and Learning will host “Priming for Learning in Large Classes: A Faculty Conversation” on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library, room 2601.

This faculty conversation is intended to share best practices for teaching large classes that are active, inclusive and engaging.

Other objectives of the workshop include:

  • Learning how to set expectations and create an inclusive environment in which intellectual risks can be taken
  • Discuss ways to monitor and adapt to student learning
  • Analyze different strategies for maximizing large-group learning in class 
  • Reflecting on implementation goals.
