Priming for Learning in Large Classes: A Faculty Conversation

Teaching a large class obviously poses different challenges when compared to teaching a smaller class. In this faculty conversation, we’ll share with each other best practices for teaching large classes that are active, inclusive, and engaging. 

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to set expectations and create an inclusive environment in which intellectual risks can be taken;
  • Discuss ways to monitor and adapt to student learning;
  • Analyze different strategies for maximizing large-group learning in class; and
  • Reflect on what you’d like to implement in your own classes.
