The Center for Research on Families (CRF) and the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) have extended the application deadline for two faculty research development programs—the Faculty Family Research Scholars (FRS) program and the Interdisciplinary Social Science Research (ISSR) Scholars program—to Feb. 23. The extension is intended to allow additional time to consider all applicants.

Faculty Family Research Scholars
The FRS program, administered by the Center for Research on Families, supports UMass Amherst faculty engaged in interdisciplinary, family-centered research. Scholars receive funding, research development support and opportunities to participate in a cross-campus community focused on advancing research related to families, relationships and well-being. Faculty from all disciplines whose work intersects with family research are encouraged to apply

Interdisciplinary Social Science Research Scholars
The ISSR Scholars program is a year-long investment that provides selected UMass faculty with time, technical expertise, peer mentorship and methodological consultation to prepare a grant proposal to advance their research. ISSR Scholars are social scientists in any academic discipline or department, working to advance a broad range of themes and methodological approaches.

Joint Informational Session
A joint informational meeting for both programs was held earlier this cycle. Faculty members who were unable to attend—or who would like to review the discussion—may view the recording.

Those interested in applying are encouraged to review program details, eligibility requirements and application materials carefully before submitting. Please consider sharing this information with colleagues who may be interested.
