Minor in Afro-American Studies

The minor in Afro-American studies can be an excellent addition to nearly any major at UMass Amherst. To complete the minor, you’ll need to take five or more courses in the program. You can choose from any courses we offer, as well as courses taught in the other Five College African studies programs. Occasionally, with the approval of the department, an independent study can count toward the minor as well.
