Fall Fun at UMass

With its vibrant foliage and crisp air, fall in Western Massachusetts offers students endless opportunities for fun on and around the UMass campus. Check out these favorite UMass student traditions.

UMass Hiomecoming Parade
Participate in UMass Homecoming. This year it takes place on campus and virtually, Nov. 1–6.
Students participate in the traditional UMass Halloween Dining Celebration.
Enjoy the traditional UMass Halloween Dining Celebration feast of steak and lobster. This year it takes place Oct. 29 in the dining halls and features a DJ, fortune teller, magician, and student costume contest.
The Power and the Class, the UMass Amherst Marching Band
Check out the local high school band scene as well as our very own Minuteman Marching Band, the Power and Class of New England, at Band Day. This year, it takes place Oct. 9 at the football game.

Take a hike and enjoy the fall foliage at one of many local spots, including Amethyst Brook, Seven Sisters, Mt. Tom, and Mt. Sugarloaf, or stroll through UMass Amherst's own Frank A. Waugh Arboretum.
