Hi, my name is Wesley Hanson, I’m a sophomore in Biomedical Engineering coming all the way from Spring, Texas!

This summer, I had a remote research opportunity at the University of Houston where I used a beta software called mumax3 to simulate ferromagnetic properties in nanoparticles, primarily iron ferrite (Fe3O4) due to its magnetoresistive properties for research in sensing devices. I wrote scripts and ran simulations to try and find what was the most optimal set of variables for this compound. I also worked for the Engineering Career Center as a summer employee where I approved jobs for engineering students and helped create a database of recent engineering alumni.

On-Campus, I participate in intramural sports, run in my free time, play video games, and I hope to be a part of more clubs this year. Can’t wait to continue working at the Engineering Career Center!
