Steven Luby ’84, MS ’86 Mechanical Engineering

Steve Luby is an entrepreneur and an active investor and mentor for New England technology companies.  Steve was the founder and CEO of VISTAGY Inc. a global leader in software for design and simulation solutions for the aerospace, automotive, marine and energy industries.  He guided the company’s technology vision and global business strategy from its initial bootstrapped beginnings through strategic exit.  Siemens PLM acquired VISTAGY in 2011; he served as Sr. VP Specialized Engineering software for Siemens PLM through 2014.

Prior to founding VISTAGY, Steve served various technical and strategic roles at Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., as an analyst and consultant for D.H. Brown Associates and as developer and product manager for Cognition Corporation. Mr. Luby attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he earned both a MS degree and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on artificial intelligence applied to design.
