Steve Wolkenbreit ’73 Chemical Engineering

Steven Wolkenbreit co-founded Argotec, Inc., a manufacturer of polyurethane specialty film in Greenfield, MA in 1988 and retired when the company was sold in 2013 to a private equity firm. 

He previously worked in various positions in product development, technical service, sales, product management and marketing for divisions of Bayer AG and Uniroyal. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Business Administration from University of New Haven.  

Steve is a member of the Advisory Board for the Department of Chemical Engineering at UMASS Amherst. He participates in various philanthropic initiatives and is on the Board and past President of his condo association in Maine.  

Steve lives with his wife Janis in Amherst, MA. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family at the beach in Maine.
