Chris Leidel ’04 Mechanical Engineering

Chris Leidel is a seasoned life-sciences business leader who blends technical engineering roots with strategic commercial insight. Beginning his career as a design engineer at Texas Instruments, Chris transitioned into roles of increasing responsibility across growth-oriented organizations—from co-founding and operating a medtech startup to leading business development and strategy functions. Notably, he helped grow FloDesign Sonics, a life science tools startup, from 3 to 45 employees through several financing rounds culminating in a 2019 acquisition by MilliporeSigma . Currently, Chris is Vice President of Business Development at Standard BioTools, where he focuses on strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions for the life-science tools platform.
