About
The Sustainable Engineering Laboratory building is open and with it comes some unique opportunities to get involved!
The first floor cafe needs a name so we are having a contest where you can submit and vote on what to call this new dining spot. In addition, the second floor has a beautiful display wall and we want to fill it with student artwork.

We're looking to you all to name the SEL Cafe!
Name nominations may be submitted by any member of Riccio College of Engineering.
- Submission deadline: Sunday, September 13, 11:59 pm
- A summary of the inspiration or reasoning behind the suggestion will be part of the submission.
- College and campus leadership will review nominations and reduce to a list of 3 to 5 acceptable names for voting.
Voting for your favorite name starts September 15th.
- Voting rules: Voting open only to current Riccio College of Engineering members.
- Restricted to one vote per individual Disclaimer: Final name selection is dependent on campus approval.

Student Art Contest
The 2nd floor of the SEL has a wall to display artifacts from this building...but there's more display space. We want to showcase artwork by you, the engineering student. Selected artwork will be on display from February 2027 to January 2028. That's not all, there's a first place prize of $250 and $100 for second place!
- Artists are encouraged to complete this Submission Form indicating their intention to submit a piece of artwork.
- Artist may request feedback from the committee on suitability, may note any requests/questions.
Completed artwork submitted by January 15th (picture of completed piece if not local)
- Bring artwork to Paula or Freke in 128 Marcus Hall
