Yaw Boadi-Acheampong
Hi! I’m Yaw Boadi-Acheampong, a sophomore majoring in Civil Engineering from Malden, MA. On campus, I serve on the e-board for RISE as the Co-Professional Development Chair and am an active member of both Engineering Without Borders and NSBE. In my free time, I love getting creative with graphic design, hunting for thrift finds, and trying out new food spots. I also work as a campus bus driver, so if you ever catch me on a route, definitely feel free to say hi! I look forward to connecting with students and helping them utilize the Career Center.
Ouma Bally
Hi! I am Ouma from Ghana, and I am a junior majoring in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics with a minor in Business. This past summer, I participated in the RIDE REU here on campus, where I conducted research on risky decision-making in teen drivers. Through this experience, I developed a strong interest in risk management, statistics, and data analysis. Beyond the Career Center, I am involved in EWB Ghana, IISE, NSBE, and Tau Beta Pi. Beyond the academic realm, I’m an avid reader who will happily pick up almost anything, with a particular appreciation for African and Middle Eastern literature.
Terry Chang
Hi! I’m Terry, a freshman majoring in Mechanical Engineering from Northborough, MA. Last summer, I worked overseas on a biomechanics and ergonomics research project focused on analyzing joint angles and limb stress under physical load. I gained hands-on exposure to motion capture, computer vision-based analysis, and applied data workflows. Overall, this experience has developed an interest to involve myself in impactful research that solves real-world problems.
Previously, I competed on the badminton team and still love playing whenever I can. Outside of academics, I’ve recently picked up skiing and I enjoy making bar soap on the side. I’m excited to help other students explore their interests an break down technical experiences into clear, compelling resumes.

Michael Choi
Hi everyone, I am a junior Biomedical Engineering major from Newton, MA. I have been a TA for Statics and Dynamics and Strength of Materials on campus. My main focus within BME is biopotential signal acquisition and filtering. I have also been preparing for AWS Certifications, so if you have any questions regarding how to prepare for the exams, l'd be willing to help! Outside of the Career Center, I am a member of the Ski and Board Club and UMass Cru. On campus, you can find me playing spike ball with my friends, reading, or listening to music. Andrew DaCruz
I'm a junior Electrical Engineering major from Rehoboth Mass., and part of Honors College. I entered my first engineering semester undeclared with no idea what I wanted to do! By the end of the semester, I declared into electrical engineering while ironically being part of the UMass Aeronautics Team. I have had 2 summer internships: one with NAVSEA NUWC in Newport conducting naval research, and one with Eversource Energy, where I learn about utility and P&C engineering. Outside of engineering, I like to play D&D, practice Japanese, and play volleyball! I want to demonstrate to others the progress you can make if you utilize the resources available. My wish for all who come to the career office is to help you navigate through that fear of the future.
Brigid Duffy
My name is Brigid Duffy, and l am a senior in Mechanical Engineering from Waltham, MA. I have a minor in Engineering Management, am the President of the UMass Rocket Team, and am the Secretary of AlAA. This past summer, I interned at Analog Devices Federal Aerospace and Defense sector as a manufacturing engineering intern for the Patriot missile team. In my free time, I like to read and go on runs. Outside of class, I am often working on my honors thesis and the Rocket Team reports.
Jacob Gordon
Hi! I'm a freshman double majoring in electrical engineering and applied physics while also minoring in mathematics. I am interested in pursuing a career in computer chip research and development, specifically looking at integrated photonics and quantum computing applications. Before college I took a gap year, allowing me to spend over a year working at Analog Devices on RF beamforming and E-band mixers as well as spending 6 months doing photonics research at MIT. When not swamped with schoolwork, I enjoy rock climbing, running, and skiing!
Hannah Hamoy
Hi! I’m Hannah from Franklin, MA (and Danbury CT), and I’m a sophomore majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biology. This past summer, I had the opportunity to work in the SomNeuro Lab on campus, where I gained hands-on research experience in sleep science. Through this role, I developed a strong interest in research, data analysis, and the real-world applications of biomedical engineering in healthcare. Beyond the Career Center, I am actively involved in SHPE, Sigma Delta Tau, and Mu Theta Tau. Outside of academics, you can usually find me at the gym, in a yoga class, or out on a hike. I’m a Pinterest and Spotify warrior, talk to me anything indie! I’m excited to help students navigate their career paths and make the most of the Career Center!
Wesley Hanson
I'm a senior Biomedical Engineering coming all the way from Spring, Texas! This summer, I worked for L'Oréal USA as a research and innovation intern for the augmented beauty development team in Jersey City! My role included working as a project manager and an engineer for upcoming beauty devices. Some devices I worked on were Cell BioPrint, a personalized skin diagnostic device, and Hapta, a gyroscopic lipstick applicator catered to those with limited range of motion. On campus, I am part of Dr. Deckers' lab in the food science department, where I track the oxidation process of lipids primarily in walnuts to find methods of prolonging the shelf life of saturated fats for health benefits. Ellacoya Herget
Hi, I'm a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student from Westford, MA. I work in the Kearney Lab researching the impact of age on wound regeneration, learning cell culture and data analysis. Recently, I have taken an interest in 3D modeling and robotics, so I'm shifting my area of research into automation inside the lab. Getting hands on experience opened new doors of opportunity and interests within the field of engineering! Outside of classes, I love to exercise, hang out with friends and family, and try new things! I'm also the merch coordinator for the UMass Surfing Club and recommend students get involved in all of the resources UMass has to offer. The Career Center helps me in professional ways and I can't wait help other students reach their career goals
Alana Huff
Hi, my name is Alana Huff. I’m a sophomore Civil Engineering student from San Diego, California! On campus, I’m involved in various professional chapters, including the Society of Women Engineers and Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers. I am also a member of ASCE and am on the UMass Steel Bridge Team. In addition to my major, I am pursuing a minor in Building and Construction Technology. Feel free to reach out! Shrita Kalikiri
I’m Shrita, a junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering from Shrewsbury, MA! This past summer, I participated in the SynBio REU on campus, where I gained research experience in the field of synthetic biology. Outside of the Career Center, I am an undergraduate research assistant in the THEAM Lab, and I am also involved in BMES and iGEM. When taking a break from academics, I love to read, bake sweet treats, and take nature walks! I’m super excited to assist students at the Career Center with all of their career needs.
Primah Kibuuka
Hi, my name is Primah Kibuuka and I’m a sophomore in civil engineering at UMass Amherst. Last summer, I did a RIDE REU internship at UMass Amherst where I worked with another student on a project looking at pedestrian behavior and safety near transit bus stops. We did field observations and reviewed video footage for high crash bus stop locations across Massachusetts. Fun fact about me is I love playing volleyball.
Paola Muwanga
Hi, I'm Paola! I am a junior from Ashland, MA, majoring in Chemical Engineering. This past summer, I was part of the Core Summer Internship program at UMass Amherst, where I worked with Dr. Roberts on the Mamabus Project. I had the opportunity to research the transportation experiences of Black pregnant women in Western Massachusetts. It was an incredible experience where I learned a lot about conducting human research studies, and I also contributed as an author to a published journal in PubMed. My primary role involved recruiting participants, facilitating interviews, and extracting data from articles. Outside of classes, I enjoy biking, attending basketball games, dancing, and weightlifting.
Kaavya Pandey
Hi everyone! My name is Kaavya, and I'm a senior from Westborough, MA, majoring in Chemical Engineering. This summer, I was an engineering intern at a startup company called Fabri. I had the opportunity to work on materials R&D for investment casting applications, as well as supporting the operations team with production scale-up. I also took a summer lab class at WPI on cellular engineering, where I learned how to culture cells and perform some of the techniques that are commonly used in mammalian cell research. On campus, I'm part of the E-board for AIChE and work for CMASS at the Yuri Kochiyama Cultural Center to host fun events throughout the semester. Outside of engineering, I love going on walks, traveling, and training in Muay Thai.

I'm April from Bergen County, New Jersey, and I am a junior studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in theatre. Over the summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work as an intern at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. There, I was able to deepen my love of engineering, so I hope that together we can help you create a resume that exemplifies your passions and gets you the internship, co-op, or job of your dreams!

Gabriella Raydo
I’m Gaby, and I’m a sophomore Chemical Engineering major with a minor in Spanish. I’m also working on the Material Science and iCons certificates. I’m involved in is our SWE chapter! I’m part of the e-board as one of the two Conference Coordinators. This past semester, we were able to bring 15 chapter members to the SWE national conference in New Orleans! It was a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals and learn from panelists. Besides SWE, I’m also involved on campus in the Minuteman Dancers club and WMUA. I love spending time outside, traveling, and going to concerts. To decompress, I also love watching movies, yoga, and I’ve been slowly learning to crochet. I’m looking forward to helping students explore resources we have available.
Anastasia Shub
Hi everyone, my name is Anastasia! I am a Senior majoring in Industrial Engineering from Swampscott, MA. This past summer, I was a Strategy and Analytics Intern at TX in their Logistics department. This experience taught me many new technical skills, such as Power Bl and SQL. I also gained firsthand insight into supply chain optimization, This school year, I am looking forward to my Honors Thesis, which I will be conducting through the Human Performance Lab on driving safety. I am also an event coordinator for IISE, the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, hosting events with faculty, alumni, and employers to learn about the many industries lEs can work in! Outside of school, I enjoy playing tennis, going for runs, and traveling.
Vanshika Singh
Hi! I'm a senior majoring in Civil Engineering and minoring in Sustainable Community Development from Chelmsford, MA! For the past two summers, l've had the amazing opportunity to be a rail and transit intern at HNTB in the overhead catenary systems and track design departments. I've learned so much about rail corridors, phases of large scale public transportation projects, and technical design involving railway tracks and electrification. If you have any questions about my experiences with transportation engineering, hiring processes, career fairs, or internships and jobs, please feel free to stop by! On campus, I'm the treasurer of Alpha Phi Omega, a member of SASA (South Asian Student Association), and l also work at the Learning Commons in the library.

Hi everyone! My name is Amiri. I am currently a senior studying Chemical Engineering from Boston, MA. This past summer I had the exciting opportunity to be an intern at Merck in Pennsylvania. In doing so, l gained valuable experience with start up facilities and vaccine manufacturing, and it was really cool to live in the Philadelphia area over the summer. If you have any questions about the pharmaceutical industry, living on your own during your internship, or getting return offers from companies you have previously interned at, feel free to reach out! Hi, I'm Steven from Brockton, MA, and I am a senior studying Civil Engineering. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to work as an intern for a construction contractor. I learned a lot about the construction industry and how construction relates to civil engineering. helped put together project bids and product submittals and also worked in the field on-site on a variety of projects. Outside of engineering, I enjoy art, sports, and traveling.
