This unique certificate program is for professionals and graduate students seeking to build the complete skills and knowledge to 1) safely and responsibly fly drones and 2) collect and process aerial images for analysis (photogrammetry).
The 9-credit, 4-course program is taught by professional pilots and data analytic experts and can be completed in one year. Two courses are online and two courses are taken in person at either UMass Amherst or our Mount Ida location in Newton, MA.
Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Unoccupied Aerial Systems Piloting prepares students to sit for the initial aeronautical knowledge test, Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG), required for FAA Remote Pilot Certification.
