Holistic teaching, collaborative research, community engagement, social justice. These are the lenses through which we consider every aspect of education, the values we put into practice every day. They influence the ways we teach our students, conduct our research, serve our communities, and work toward a global future that is more equitable and more just.
Our programs are designed to help you develop versatile leadership skills that can be applied in the classroom and your community. Whether you're interested in teaching, research, leadership—or a combination of all three—we have an academic pathway that's right for you.
We conduct forward-thinking research that informs decisions at every level of education. Our research promotes policies, practices, and partnerships that support the creation of educational systems and communities that are diverse, just, meaningful, and impactful.

After the College of Education's most recent reaccreditation, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) merged to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). CAEP advances excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen PreK–12 student learning.
