Women Volunteers Needed for Movement Study
Researchers in the department of kinesiology are seeking participants for a study on biomechanical movement of women.
They are seeking women without children and women with children under five years old.
In the group with women without children, prospective volunteers should:
- Be 25-45 years old
- Be in good general health with a BMI less than 30 kg/m2
- Have no history of major lower extremity surgery, injury or current joint pain
In the group of women with children, prospective volunteers should:
- Be 25-45 years old
- Be in good general health with a BMI less than 30 kg/m2
- Have no history of major lower extremity surgery, injury or current joint pain
- Have given birth to a full-term infant without complications (37 – 42 weeks)
- Have given birth between one to five years ago
- Not be currently breastfeeding
Participants will be asked to complete one visit to a lab, where they will be asked to stand, walk and run for short bouts. Researchers will measure how volunteers move and the activity of their muscles. There will also be questionnaires about general health. The study will take about two hours to complete.
