Women in Sports Media Symposium Set for April 13

Keri Potts, ESPN senior director of communications, and Bernadette V. McGlade, commissioner of the A-10 Conference, will keynote “Share the Experience,” the second annual Women in Sports Media Symposium on Friday, April 13 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Integrative Learning Center.

The morning panel features ESPN editors Cristina Daglas, Jena Janovy, Christina Karl and Joy Russo Schoenfield, who will talk about their experiences as female editors at ESPN.

The afternoon panel consists of recent UMass Amherst sports journalism graduates who will offer advice and talk about their experiences entering the industry.

Potts will speak a 9:30 am. McGlade will speak at 12:45 p.m.

The event is free and open to all. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided to all who RSVP.
