Western Massachusetts Health Equity Summit Set for Sept. 14
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences and the Western Massachusetts Health Equity Network are hosting the 3rd Western Massachusetts Health Equity Summit on Friday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Auditorium.
The summit will bring together practitioners, students, planners and community leaders from across sectors and the four counties of western Massachusetts. Participants will work, learn, and take important steps toward creating greater health equity in the region.
The Summit’s co-emcees are Elizabeth O’Gilvie from the Springfield Food Policy Council and Gardening the Community, and Phoebe Walker from the Franklin Regional Council of Governments.
Attendees can expect to:
Participate in unique networking and collaboration opportunities
Attend workshops and roundtables on policy, power, the toxicity of racism, and data and analysis challenges
Hear from speakers Pablo Ruiz from RaiseUp Massachusetts, Gwendolyn VanSant from Multicultural BRIDGE, and Danielle Winters from Arise for Social Justice, who will deliver a plenary talk “What Do We Do Next? New Ideas to Move Health Equity Forward”
