Walker to Participate in Livestream Panel on Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare

Rachel Walker, assistant professor in the College of Nursing, will participate in a panel discussion on artificial intelligence and healthcare along with fellow Lemlson Invention Ambassadors and a Facebook researcher.

“AI’s Role in Addressing Global Challenges Related to Health and Healthcare in the 21st Century: A Conversation with AAAS-Lemlson Invention Ambassadors and Facebook,” will be livestreamed from Facebook’s Washington DC studio on Friday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.

Walker was the first nurse to be selected as a Lemlson Invention Ambassador for 2018 – 19 by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She will be discussing nursing leadership and perspectives, the importance of presence and human touch and bias in electronic health records and other datasets that can impact outcomes of artificial intelligence or machine learning for health.
