Volunteers Needed for Knee Sensor Study
Healthy Volunteers are being recruited for a new research study involving a knee flex sensor and smart insole.
Inclusion Criteria:
- No cognitive impairments that would affect their ability to understand instructions.
- Able to perform motor tasks independently.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Pregnant women.
- Any known orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, pulmonary or gait disorder other than knee osteoarthritis that may result in an abnormal gait pattern or an inability to perform the activities.
This is a non-invasive study that will consist of a lab session and a free-living session. Each session will last for approximately three hours. The study will take place in the Human Testing Center located in the Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS). Participants will be asked to perform a series of motor tasks while wearing our smart flex sensor and smart insole.
For more information or to participate, contact the Musculoskeletal and Orthopedics Biomechanics Lab (MOBL) at (413)-545-4421 or mobl@umass.edu and mention the “knee sensor study.” An initial phone screening will be used to determine eligibility.
