UMass Transit to Begin Restoring Some Service

UMass Transit Service (UMTS), operator of local PVTA transit service for UMass and the greater Amherst area, will begin partial restoration of some route services from prior temporary reductions. UMTS and its UMass student employees have been hard at work recruiting, training and welcoming additional drivers during the Winter semester, and continues to review every opportunity to strategically restore service whenever student staffing levels allow. Full bus schedules will be posted on www.pvta.com, and available on all major transit service device apps.

Monday, Feb. 6: Route 34, the Campus Shuttle Northbound, will partially restore weekday service to 5:44 p.m. This service augments the frequent full weekday Route 35 Campus Shuttle Southbound service, which operates until 12:18 a.m.

Saturday, Feb. 11: Route 33, the Puffer’s Pond/Shopper Shuttle route, will restore all Saturday service, with more frequent departures. With this change, all Route 33 service will have been restored.
