The journal is committed to presenting research and scholarship aimed at ending inequities in education by examining existing structures in our schools and colleges and promoting practices that empower educators and communities. To ensure the integrity of material presented in the journal, Revolutionizing Education is using a double-blind peer review process and will be available to all at no cost.

“MTA educators are dedicated to creating schools and colleges that transform lives and communities,” says Max Page, MTA president and professor of architecture at UMass Amherst. “Revolutionizing Education is a bold undertaking by our union to surface new ideas and approaches to education that consider the needs of today’s students, families, and communities. This is an exciting endeavor that will tap into research on education happening worldwide and make these findings available to everyone at no cost.”

The Libraries, which already publish a number of open access journals, welcome the partnership with the MTA.

“As part of this open publishing program, the Libraries will provide the MTA with the technical infrastructure and expert support to gather, evaluate, and provide free, open, and long-term access to the research appearing in the journal to users from around the world,” said Erin Jerome, UMass library publishing and institutional repository librarian.

Revolutionizing Education is currently accepting applications for reviewers and authors may now submit articles for consideration. For inquiries on submissions or on becoming a peer reviewer, email mtajournal@rev-ed.org.
