UMass faculty, staff and students are invited to Old Chapel on Thursday, April 20, for a presentation on the proposed new Amherst elementary school, which is the focus of the upcoming May 2 municipal election.  

The presentation, starting at 6 p.m., will be led by Cathy Schoen, District 1 councilor and chair of the Elementary School Building Committee, and Town Council President Lynn Griesemer, District 2.  

Councilors Schoen and Griesemer will discuss the climate features and the educational design of the proposed carbon neutral facility, which would be the first municipal building of its kind built by the Town of Amherst.  

 The event is free and open to the public.
