UMass Dining App Wins Best University Mobile Application for Third Time
AMHERST, Mass. – The UMass Dining mobile app has been awarded Best University Mobile Application in the Web Marketing Association’s 2018 MobileWebAward Competition for the third year in row.
UMass Dining’s mobile app shows live foot traffic, daily menus, operating hours and contact information for all dining common locations and retail locations. The app also shares on-campus dining event information, and allows users to personalize their menu choices based on dietary preferences and allergens.
The MobileWebAwards Competition uses several criteria to assess the creativity, impact, design, content, interactivity, and ease of use of each submission. Each entry is first assessed based on industry classification, and then across all industries to determine overall excellence of the website or mobile application.
The MobileWebAwards prides itself on looking for “the best work in the mobile world.” The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and development of the best websites on the World Wide Web.
“Wow! We’re honored to win three years in a row. Thanks to the entire marketing team who made it happen as we continue to leverage technology to serve our students better,” said Ken Toong, executive director of Auxiliary Enterprises at UMass Amherst.
