On Nov. 13, “Plugging In After the Election” will take place at 4 p.m. in the Great Hall of Old Chapel. The Migration Working Group is partnering with local immigrant assistance and advocacy organizations, as well as groups and offices on campus that work with non-citizen students, to organize and sponsor a session focused on the question: What comes next? This event is in collaboration with the Office of Global Affairs (formerly the International Programs Office).

A faculty panel, “After the Election: The Work of Democracy Continues” will be held on Nov. 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Amherst Room of the UMass Campus Center (10th floor).

Democracy in Troubled Times aims to address the challenges democracy faces in the U.S. and elsewhere, examining both enduring struggles and new challenges. It was designed to contribute to the significant efforts already underway on campus to address these issues.

Another initiative examining the issue of navigating challenging, complex and controversial subjects in ways that bring our community together is Community, Democracy and Dialogue, which supports the UMass Amherst commitment to promoting the exercise of free speech and nurturing discussions that foster empathy, broaden perspectives and diminish polarization.
